At the start of 2026, the laser and optoelectronic industry has received a New Year boost, with at least 5 industrial chain enterprises obtaining government subsidies exceeding 100 million yuan.

Recently, laser manufacturers including UniForm Laser, Innolight, Golden Laser, Changguang Huaxin, and Kway Optronics have successively announced receiving relevant government subsidies, with a total amount of nearly 100 million yuan.

In fact, this is not a simple wave of ”cash handouts”, but targeted and substantial“precision funding support”. According to the announcement details, the subsidies are clearly directed to key areas such as technology R&D, industrialization of core devices, and intelligent technological transformation of production lines, highlighting the country’s precise support for the strategic directions of high-end, intelligent, and green development.

United Winners Laser: Secures Over 70 Million Yuan in Major Government Subsidies

As the front-runner in the laser welding equipment sector, United Winners Laser has emerged as the biggest winner in this round of government subsidy allocations.

According to the company’s announcement dated January 14, 2026, United Winners Laser and its multiple subsidiaries cumulatively received government subsidies amounting to 74.4536 million yuan for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2025.

The funds are disbursed in a two-pronged structure: 52.4596 million yuan, classified as income-related, is directly recognized in profit or loss for the current period, and can be immediately deployed for new technology R&D and market expansion. The remaining 21.9940 million yuan, asset-related, is recognized as deferred income, to be amortized in installments over the useful life of the corresponding assets, locking in stable resources for the company’s long-term development.

The announcement also specifies that the subsidy recipients cover six of the company’s subsidiaries, including Shenzhen United Winners Software, Jiangsu United Winners Laser and Huizhou United Winners Technology, forming a cross-regional coordinated subsidy coverage framework.

In fact, this high-value subsidy will not only directly boost United Winners Laser’s 2025 annual profit, but also strengthen the company’s R&D capabilities in high-end sectors including power battery laser welding and semiconductor packaging. It is expected to further consolidate the company’s leading position in the industry.

Inno Laser: 5.6 Million Yuan in Subsidies Finalized

On January 13, 2026, Inno Laser announced that it is expected to receive 5.6 million yuan in government subsidies. Of this amount, 4.46 million yuan is income-related cash grants, accounting for more than 10% of the company’s net profit in the most recent fiscal year. However, as of the date of the announcement, the funds have not yet been received, and the final amount is subject to the audit report.

The subsidy is earmarked exclusively for the R&D and industrialization of TOPCON laser SE direct doping equipment, which is highly aligned with the country’s strategic priorities for breakthroughs in semiconductor laser technology.

The subsidy is expected to accelerate the company’s technology iteration and market rollout, while easing the pressure from its R&D investment. The company disclosed that the subsidized project has passed the first-phase acceptance inspection, but the industrialization process still needs to overcome technical bottlenecks such as optical path stability. The timely injection of this policy-backed funding serves as a much-needed lifeline for the company, providing critical support for its upcoming development.

Golden Laser: 1.4 Million Yuan Subsidy as a Timely Lifeline

Previously, Wuhan Golden Laser announced in a filing on December 12, 2025 that it had received 1.395 million yuan in income-related government subsidies on December 11. While the absolute amount of the funds is modest, it has delivered a remarkable targeted support effect for Golden Laser.

Affected by sluggish demand in the consumer electronics sector, Golden Laser has seen a significant year-on-year decline in net profit in recent years, and is in the midst of the growing pains of strategic transformation. The company has been continuously scaling back its traditional business and shifting its focus to the 3D printing and metal laser equipment sectors in recent years, and this subsidy has provided it with valuable breathing room.

It is understood that the funds are earmarked exclusively for the market expansion and technology iteration of laser equipment, and will be directly recorded under the other income account. It is expected to have an equivalent positive impact on the company's total profit for the 2025 fiscal year. The company frankly stated that while the subsidy has a limited boosting effect on short-term performance, it has secured a critical time window for its strategic restructuring.

Everbright Photonics: Sustained Funding Injections for the Leading Chip Enterprise

As a leading domestic manufacturer of high-power semiconductor laser chips, Suzhou Everbright Photonics Co., Ltd.’s receipt of government subsidies reflects the local government’s long-term commitment to supporting hard tech industries.

According to the company’s announcement dated December 12, 2025, Everbright Photonics and its wholly-owned subsidiaries have cumulatively received approximately 11.67 million yuan in government subsidies for the period from August 9, 2025 to the announcement disclosure date.

Of this amount, 8.06 million yuan, classified as income-related, will be used to supplement daily operations and R&D investment. The remaining 3.61 million yuan, asset-related, will be amortized in installments along with the depreciation of fixed assets. This structure not only safeguards the company’s short-term liquidity, but also locks in funding for long-term capacity construction.

Notably, the sustained government subsidies have formed a positive feedback loop with the company’s technological breakthroughs. The funds will mainly support the implementation of its "one platform, one fulcrum, horizontal expansion, vertical extension" strategy, accelerate the domestic substitution process of high-end optoelectronic chips, and consolidate its core position in the semiconductor industrial cluster of Suzhou High-Tech Zone.

The project has been awarded 6.7238 million yuan in government grants, earmarked exclusively for the automation and intelligent upgrading of its production lines. As a key player in the manufacturing of core optoelectronic components, the company launched this technological transformation to boost production efficiency and product yield in its mobile terminal camera module business.

For Cowell Optronics, which is in the critical capacity ramp-up phase, this funding not only eases the financial pressure from equipment procurement, but also accelerates its technology iteration in the new display and consumer electronics optics sectors. It will further strengthen the company's supporting supply capability for downstream end-device manufacturers, and consolidate its industrial foundation in optoelectronic manufacturing.

Policy Empowerment: Targeted Funding Injections for Core Industry Sectors

There is no doubt that this round of government subsidies, totaling over 100 million yuan for multiple enterprises in the laser and related sectors, has served as a much-needed timely boost. Yet its significance extends far beyond easing the financial pressure of individual companies.

According to announcements released by the subsidized listed companies, fiscal funds are systematically flowing into key links of the industrial chain. Beyond the considerable total value, the vast majority of the funds are earmarked exclusively for core technology breakthroughs and industrialization.

From upstream chip production to downstream manufacturing, the policy-backed funds deliver full coverage of the industrial chain’s critical links, reducing the cost and risk of corporate innovation, and accelerating core technology breakthroughs and high-end capacity construction. For instance, these funds help UniForm Laser consolidate its industry leadership, Innolight overcome technical bottlenecks, and Golden Laser secure a critical time window for its strategic transformation.

In terms of the fund allocation, government authorities intend to use the subsidies to lower enterprises’ innovation costs and risks, and expedite the breakthrough of core technologies and the development of high-end capacity.

It is foreseeable that, under the continuous catalysis of policy dividends, leading enterprises and the entire industrial chain will form stronger innovation synergy, driving China’s laser and optoelectronic industry to accelerate its march toward the mid-to-high end of the global value chain.
