Shenzhen, June 11–The 9th Secret Light Awards Presentation Ceremony, a flagship industry event spanning the full laser industry chain, drew to a close here on the evening of June 11. A total of 56 benchmark entities emerged as final winners, serving as a barometer for the innovative development of China’s laser industry in 2026.
This is far more than an annual review of industry achievements; it is a collective declaration of the industry’s positioning: China’s laser industry has progressed from following global peers, to running alongside them, and has now officially entered the stage of global leadership.
Two New Awards Launched to Chart the Industry’s Future Course
The most anticipated highlight of this year’s Secret Light Awards is the introduction of two brand-new accolades: the Laser Technology Innovation Team Award and the Laser Industry Young Talent Award. This marks a formal evolution of the industry’s award system from a product-centric focus to a talent-oriented approach—one that recognizes not only technological deliverables, but also the root of innovation and the momentum for future growth.
Four exceptional young professionals from universities and frontline enterprise teams were presented with the Laser Industry Young Talent Award: Sun Keying, Yu Xia, Zhong Lijing and Zhang Zilong. They represent the commitment and potential of the new generation driving the laser industry forward.
Five leading scientific innovation teams took home the Laser Technology Innovation Team Award, including the Optical Interconnection Team from Zhejiang University, the Maxwell-USTC Core Photonics Intelligent Manufacturing Team, and the High-Power Blue Laser Team from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Their research spans cutting-edge sectors including optical interconnection, blue laser intelligent manufacturing and optical computing, setting the pace for industry-wide technological advancement.
56 Benchmarks: Full-Chain Innovation Shines From Core Components to Complete Equipment
Beyond the talent and team awards, this year's Secret Light Awards cover all key segments across the upper, middle and lower streams of the laser industry chain, presenting the robust fruits of chain-wide innovation.
Laser Supporting Product Innovation Award: Premium solutions from 7 enterprises, covering core supporting equipment including 3D welding systems, CNC cutting systems, high-precision galvanometers and intelligent control systems, filling key gaps in equipment capabilities.

Laser Processing Head Innovation Award: Brings together 4 landmark intelligent processing equipment achievements, supporting the intelligent and high-precision upgrading of smart welding and cutting processes.
Laser Device Innovation Award: Innovative laser products from 10 enterprises claimed the award, including high-end light sources such as air-cooled pulsed fiber lasers, ultrafast solid-state femtosecond lasers and deep-ultraviolet picosecond lasers, adaptable to diverse scenarios from photovoltaics and semiconductors to precision manufacturing.
Laser Industrial Equipment Innovation Award: 10 sets of high-end industrial equipment won the honor, including high-speed laser scribing machines, welding systems for new energy vehicle liquid-cooled plates, five-axis simultaneous precision processing equipment and flexible automated production lines. These solutions drive the efficient, intelligent and large-scale upgrading of laser manufacturing processes, and fully cater to the demands of high-end manufacturing sectors.
For comprehensive enterprise awards, 6 companies including Han's CNC, Weihong Co., Ltd., Maxphotonics and Guangzhi Technology received the Laser Industry Influential Enterprise Award. Emerging industry players such as DG Laser, Elite Optoelectronics and EMGO TECH won the Best Growing Enterprise Award for their strong growth momentum. This demonstrates that China's laser industry has built a complete innovation ecosystem spanning from core components to high-end equipment, and from research teams to rising industrial enterprises.
Academicians Set the Tone: China’s Laser Sector Ranks Firmly in the Global Top Tier
At the award ceremony, leading authoritative experts delivered speeches successively to chart the industry’s development direction from multiple perspectives, including Fan Dianyuan, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE); Gu Bo, Vice President of the International Commission for Optics (ICO) and Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering; and Wei Zhiyi, Research Professor at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOP, CAS).
Academician Fan Dianyuan noted that the quality of entries for this year’s awards has hit a new high. The self-reliance and controllability of domestic laser technologies have continued to improve, with remarkable progress made in core technology breakthroughs. He emphasized that the Secret Light Awards serve not only as a stage for industry honors, but also as a critical bridge connecting resources across the full industry chain and accelerating the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements from laboratories to the market.
From a global perspective, Academician Gu Bo concluded that China has firmly established itself in the global top tier in terms of technological strength, industrial scale and implementation capacity in core laser fields. He expressed the expectation that the industry will further expand its global footprint and deepen international technological cooperation going forward.
According to Wei Zhiyi, the World Laser Manufacturing Conference has become a world-renowned industry platform, and the Secret Light Awards has also grown into an authoritative benchmark award in the laser sector. Against the backdrop of shifting global manufacturing transformation, he pointed out that laser technology faces both opportunities and challenges. For future development, it is necessary to advance in-depth integration of scientific research and industry, support the transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing sector, and jointly unlock new growth prospects for the industry.
Huang Zhijia, President of the Guangdong Laser Industry Association (GDLIA), reviewed the industry’s development trajectory and stated that domestic equipment and core components are continuously breaking overseas technological monopolies, with steadily enhanced supporting capabilities across the entire industry chain.
Li Yuanheng, President of the Taiwan Laser Industry Association, also called for deeper cross-Strait technical exchanges and resource sharing, to jointly elevate the global competitiveness of China’s laser industry.
More Than an Honor: From Award Platform to Innovation Ecosystem Connector
After nine years of dedicated development, the Secret Light Awards has recognized over 400 breakthrough industry achievements. Yet its value is extending far beyond the award-giving function itself.
Shao Huo, Editor-in-Chief of Laserfair.com and representative of the event organizer, stated: "The organizer will continuously optimize the award evaluation mechanism and expand its pool of global industry resources. Leveraging the dual platforms of the World Laser Manufacturing Conference and the Secret Light Awards, we will keep smoothing the pathways for technology commercialization and market connection."
The event also featured sessions including enterprise sharing, interactive lucky draws and an industry networking dinner, building a relaxed and efficient communication platform for all attendees. Through face-to-face exchanges, enterprises from the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain matched resources and explored cooperation opportunities together.
As Academician Fan Dianyuan put it, the Secret Light Awards is evolving into an ecosystem hub that connects industry, universities, research institutes, end users and capital. Award-winning enterprises gain not only recognition, but also access to top-tier investment institutions and industrial resources, accelerating the industrialization of their innovative achievements.
Outlook: Powering China’s Manufacturing with Stronger Laser Strength
The successful conclusion of the 9th Secret Light Awards is far more than an annual review of industry achievements—it marks a consolidation of industry-wide consensus: China’s laser industry has gained the full capability and confidence to compete with top global players on the world stage.
Going forward, the Secret Light Awards will continue to leverage its award program as a bond to unearth high-quality innovative outcomes, establish industry benchmark enterprises and expand the scope of international exchanges. It will drive the in-depth integration of laser technology and intelligent manufacturing, and continuously deliver "laser power" to the transformation and upgrading of China’s high-end manufacturing sector and the high-quality development of the real economy.
