The new facility is the largest single investment made by the company. The building will be equipped with modern systems and materials for energy-efficiency including sensor-controlled office and plant LED lighting, as well as special energy-saving heating, ventilating and cooling systems. Relocation is expected to take place in 2017, with the whole campus covering an area of 16 acres.

“Besides the APAC region, the U.S.A. has been our most important growth region with average annual growth rates of 13 percent since 2009,” said Michael Mertin, Jenoptik president and CEO. “There is a high demand for our metrology and laser machines. The new campus provides us with state-of-the-art infrastructure and allows us to get even closer to our customers in the U.S. automotive industry.”

The new location will also provide area and expansion options for other Jenoptik activities such as the defense, civil systems and healthcare divisions.

Jenoptik is a manufacturer and designer of optical lens assemblies, optical components, refractive and diffractive micro-optics.
