AI computing continues to grow and high-speed optical communications keep upgrading, pushing liquid cooling and optical modules into a new round of industrial expansion. According to industry estimates, the optical module liquid cooling market will be worth about $1 billion in 2026 and exceed $6.3 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 53%. As 800G and 1.6T high-speed optical modules ramp up, and as high-power chips and AI data centers demand greater cooling efficiency, copper-based precision thermal management is emerging as a fast-growing new market.
Against this industry backdrop, Shenzhen Gongda Laser Co., Ltd. has completed a Series C+ strategic funding round. The round was led by Shenzhen Capital Group, with continued follow-on investment from industrial capital including HX Capital (an affiliate fund of Sany Group) and Leaguer Capital (a Tsinghua-affiliated industry-academia-research fund).
Notably, this new strategic capital injection comes just months after Gongda Laser announced the completion of a Series C strategic round worth hundreds of millions of yuan. The accelerated pace from Series C to Series C+ and the consecutive capital commitments not only reflect investors' sustained attention to Gongda Laser's core technology and industrialization capabilities, but also send a strong signal: as downstream application markets open up at an accelerating pace, high-power short-wavelength lasers and green-light metal additive manufacturing are entering an important window for accelerated industrialization.
For Gongda Laser, the capital favor reflects two industrial main lines the company is building: one is the continued breakthrough in high-power short-wavelength laser core technology; the other is advancing the industrialization of copper-based metal 3D printing built on a green-light laser technology foundation, while rapidly entering high-growth application markets such as liquid cooling and optical communications.
01
Starting from Core Light Sources, Continuously Breaking Through High-Power Short-Wavelength Technology
To achieve efficient and precise processing of highly reflective materials such as copper, the core lies first in the laser light source.
Gongda Laser has long focused on high-power short-wavelength fiber laser technology, continuously pursuing breakthroughs in higher power, shorter wavelengths, and higher beam quality. It is the world's first company to achieve a 4kW near-single-mode continuous-wave green laser, representing the current global pinnacle of green laser technology. The company has developed scalable application capabilities for hundred-watt and kilowatt-class continuous-wave green lasers and pulsed lasers, with related products already used in lithium battery, semiconductor manufacturing, and high-end equipment sectors. These continuous breakthroughs in green laser technology also provide core technical support for the company's further expansion into copper-based material additive manufacturing.
Building on this foundation, the company has further expanded toward shorter wavelengths, launching a 227W single-mode ultraviolet fiber laser and continuously enhancing short-wavelength laser capabilities in power, beam quality, and engineering applications.
From green to ultraviolet—"dual world-leading" capabilities—Gongda Laser is building a technology R&D and product system covering different short wavelengths and power ranges.
02
Accelerating into the Industrialization Market for Green-Light Additive Manufacturing
For Gongda Laser, the rapid growth of markets such as liquid cooling and optical modules aligns closely with the company's long-term bets on high-power short-wavelength lasers and green-light metal additive manufacturing. A rapidly growing application market and a core technology that is accelerating toward maturity are converging to form a new industrial intersection.
Responding to downstream industry demand, Gongda Laser's subsidiary Shenzhen Addireen Technology Co., Ltd. is steadily advancing the industrialization of green-light metal 3D printing. Focusing on highly reflective metal materials such as pure copper and copper alloys, Addireen has built full-chain capabilities spanning green lasers, metal 3D printing equipment, material processes, printing and manufacturing, and inspection and validation.
This technology roadmap is also connecting with market demand in liquid cooling, optical modules, and beyond. Targeting applications in AI computing and high-speed optical communications, Addireen is prioritizing the scaled manufacturing of high-thermal-conductivity microchannel liquid cooling structures, copper-based thermal management components, and complex copper structural parts. It is also continuously expanding into diverse application scenarios including AI computing, optical communications, controlled nuclear fusion, commercial aerospace, new energy, and 3C consumer electronics, steadily penetrating leading end customers across multiple tracks.

Capital Continues to Flow In as Industrialization Enters a New Stage
This Series C+ round was led by Shenzhen Capital Group, one of China's most representative state-owned venture capital institutions. Shenzhen Capital Group has long focused on investing in technological innovation and strategic emerging industries. Its lead investment in this round, together with continued follow-on participation from existing shareholders, further demonstrates the capital market's strong recognition of Gongda Laser's core technology roadmap, industrialization capabilities, and future market potential.
The continued injection of capital is resonating with rapid changes in downstream markets. On one hand, industries such as AI computing and high-speed optical communications continue to upgrade, steadily opening up market space for liquid cooling and optical modules. On the other hand, Gongda Laser continues to make breakthroughs in high-power short-wavelength laser technology and, using green-light technology as its entry point, is accelerating its layout in copper-based metal additive manufacturing.
It is understood that following this funding round, Gongda Laser will further advance technology R&D along its two main lines—high-power short-wavelength laser core light sources and green-light metal additive manufacturing—while accelerating capacity building and downstream application expansion.
An industrial upgrade driven jointly by computing power, optical communications, and advanced manufacturing is unfolding. Gongda Laser, positioned at the center of this shift, is entering a new stage of development in which its technological value is being released at an accelerating pace and its industrial scale continues to grow.
