Two Chinese laser companies have recently reported fresh progress on their overseas expansion. Laisai Laser held an opening ceremony for its first overseas production base in Vietnam, officially entering the batch production phase. Meanwhile, BLT (Bright Laser Technologies) Europe completed its relocation and moved into new premises in Germany.
The simultaneous launch of these two overseas footholds marks an acceleration in China’s laser measurement and metal additive manufacturing industries, shifting from “product exports” to going global with manufacturing, brands, and services. It further strengthens the global supply chain system and enhances localized delivery capabilities for global markets.
Laisai Laser Vietnam base Grandly Opens
On August 7, 2026, the opening ceremony of Laisai Laser Vietnam was held grandly at the Long Thanh Industrial Park in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. Guests from China, Vietnam, the United States, Sweden, and other countries gathered to witness this key milestone in the company's global development. Members of Laisai Laser's board of directors, representatives from the Dong Nai provincial government and the industrial park, international partners including Spectra Precision, Johnson Level, and Hultafors, as well as Vietnam general agent YAMASU and dealers from both domestic and overseas markets, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. More than 20 Chinese dealer representatives traveled to Vietnam to show support, joining partners from home and abroad to celebrate the launch of the new base.
The Vietnam plant is the first overseas production base in Laisai Laser's history and an important symbol of the company's global strategy upgrade. As the company's first overseas manufacturing base, the current phase of the Vietnam plant is planned with a production capacity of more than 120,000 laser line levels, 30,000 laser rotary levels, and 100,000 laser distance meters per year. once fully completed and running at full capacity, the current phase will achieve an annual output of 250,000 professional laser measuring tools and instruments, with service coverage essentially extending to all local dealer networks in Vietnam.
The official operation of Laisai Laser Vietnam not only adds a modern manufacturing base, but also further improves the company's global layout of "R&D in China, manufacturing in Vietnam, and global marketing." Ren Jianwei, International Trade Director of Laisai Laser and the first General Manager of the Vietnam company, said the Vietnam plant will strictly implement Laisai's unified global quality standards, leverage regional advantages to promote localized manufacturing and services, and strengthen the international expansion of its proprietary brand.
Lu Jianhong, Chairman and General Manager of Laisai Laser, said at the ceremony that the Vietnam company is an important part of Laisai's globalization strategy. Going forward, the company will leverage Vietnam's location advantages and regional industrial foundation to further improve its global manufacturing layout, continuously enhance its ability to serve international customers, strengthen supply chain resilience, and meet global customer demand more efficiently. The company's strategic plan to build a plant in Vietnam is not only aimed at participating in Vietnam's rapid economic growth and driving the development of local laser-related high-tech and technological progress, but also at continuously optimizing the global supply chain layout and enhancing supply chain resilience. Moreover, based on localized design, R&D, manufacturing, and marketing in Vietnam, the company will deepen local brand operations, radiate and drive the development of the laser product industry chain ecosystem in Southeast Asia, create new advantages in brand competition and intelligent manufacturing, and share the innovative achievements of the Vietnam plant with global suppliers, dealers, and overseas customers.
From Changzhou to Vietnam, and from China to the world, Laisai Laser has taken a step not only across national borders, but also an important step in its global development and overseas expansion of its proprietary brand. BLT Europe Moves into New Premises
Around the same time, BLT (Bright Laser Technologies), a leading metal additive manufacturing company, also completed an upgrade of its European service capabilities.
On August 14, BLT officially announced that BLT Europe GmbH had relocated and moved into a new facility at Ganghoferstraße 45a, 82216 Maisach, Germany, to provide localized support for metal 3D printing equipment and technical services.
The new site features an exhibition area, equipment display zone, technical training center, local team offices, and after-sales technical support center, complemented by a user training center, a small-batch trial production center, and a spare parts warehouse. The upgraded facility aims to strengthen BLT's localized delivery, after-sales response, and technical trial production capabilities in Europe, helping the company tap into local industry-academia-research resources and integrate its metal 3D printing solutions into the European industrial chain.
BLT's European subsidiary officially began operations in 2023 and has since built a partner network covering Western, Central, and Southern Europe. Its business spans core European countries including Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, and Slovenia, as well as key regions in Africa, with localized delivery of metal 3D printing equipment, powder materials, and full technical services. The European team is now working normally at the new site, with business contact channels remaining unchanged.
Looking ahead, BLT will continue to deepen its presence in key sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and medical, accumulate local application cases in Europe, and deliver professional and efficient metal additive manufacturing solutions to global customers.
Deepening Global Expansion
Manufacturing capacity landing in Southeast Asia and localized service upgrades in Europe—one production base and one regional service center represent two typical paths for Chinese laser equipment makers going global. Building overseas factories allows companies to move closer to emerging markets, strengthen supply chain resilience, and shorten delivery cycles, while establishing overseas technical service centers enhances local capabilities in technology, after-sales support, and training to deepen their presence in mature high-end markets.
As global infrastructure and high-end manufacturing continue to develop, demand for laser measurement and metal additive manufacturing keeps growing. The overseas expansion of Laisai Laser and BLT is a microcosm of how Chinese high-end equipment makers are leveraging domestic technological strengths to compete in the global arena.
