Venturedyne (Pewaukee, WI), holding company for environmental test chambers and vibration test systems maker Thermotron Industries (Holland, MI), has acquired metal laser cutting provider Lakewood Fab Tech (also in Holland, MI; located directly across the street). Thermotron's systems are widely used to simulate harsh environments to improve product quality and reliability. Since all equipment is designed and manufactured at company headquarters, Venturedyne has been seeking ways to increase Thermotron's capacity.
Lakewood Fab Tech has worked with Thermotron in the past, providing sheet metal fabrication and welding services. Recently, however, they have taken on a more significant role by aiding in the manufacturing of sheet metal for a significant number of environmental test chambers. The additional capacity at Lakewood Fab Tech will help Thermotron reach a significant number of growth goals in the coming months and years, according to Clint Peterson, president of Thermotron Industries.
Up to this point, Lakewood Fab Tech has specialized in manufacturing machines, subassemblies, and parts for food processing, material handling, and automated assembly. They have significant skills and experience in laser cutting, metal forming, deburring and finishing, CNC machining, welding and passivation, assembly of stainless steel, and powder coating.
