SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 24, 2016 — Laser materials processing developer Universal Laser Systems Inc. has been granted a patent for its MultiWave Hybrid technology.

The MultiWave Hybrid technology combines beams from multiple lasers into a single, hybrid laser beam. Users can leverage this technology to combine a number of different laser power levels and wavelengths. Additionally, users can dynamically and individually control the lasers.

This patented technology is an indispensable tool for manufacturing, material science and product development. It offers enhanced laser material processing flexibility and adaptability by providing users compatibility with the broadest range of materials within one laser system. It is ideal for processing many materials such as plastic films, industrial films, engineering plastics, laminating adhesives, composite materials and others.

“This technology has the potential to produce new and novel methods of processing materials with laser energy by combining multiply wavelengths of laser energy into a single beam which can produce reactions from materials not seen or possible when only one wavelength is used,” said Chris Risser, director of product development for Universal Laser Systems.

Universal Laser Systems is a global manufacturer of laser material processing solutions.
