Golden October sees China's laser industry in a "harvest season".

From October 16 to 21, 2025, in just 5 days, four laser industry "mega-projects" with a total investment exceeding 10 billion yuan, spanning from north to south China, successively reached key milestones of operation or topping-out.

On October 21, Lead Technology's 5-billion-yuan semiconductor lidar project was put into operation in Dezhou; on October 18, Baojin Laser's 5-billion-yuan new energy vehicle lightweight base was launched in Ma'anshan; on October 16, the headquarters of Raykeen Medical Laser in Shanghai was topped out, while Acme Laser's digital smart factory in Jinan was put into operation.

These four intensive large-scale projects span four major fields: vehicle-mounted sensing, automotive manufacturing, medical equipment, and high-end equipment, with a total investment exceeding 10 billion yuan. They not only demonstrate the vigorous development momentum of local laser industries but also indicate a significant improvement in China's independent innovation capability in high-end manufacturing, hitting the "accelerator" for industrial transformation and upgrading.

Lead Technology

5-Billion-Yuan Semiconductor LiDAR Project Put into Production

October 21, 2025 marked a milestone moment for Tianqu New Area in Dezhou, Shandong–the 5-billion-yuan industrialization project of Xiandao Technology's semiconductor LiDAR and sensors was officially put into production. This project's launch signifies the completion of China's first full LiDAR industry chain covering "materials – chips – complete machines" in Dezhou, filling the gap in domestic independent full-chain production of high-end sensors.

As introduced, the project is invested and built by Lead Technology Group–the world's largest scattered metal material manufacturer and a Top 500 Chinese manufacturing enterprise. Covering 268 mu (approximately 178,667 square meters) with a total construction area of 250,000 square meters, its core advantage lies in the "vertical integration" production model: forming a full-chain closed loop from upstream gallium arsenide epitaxial material growth, to chip manufacturing, device packaging, and finally to LiDAR complete machine integration.

This model breaks the fragmentation of traditional industrial chains, giving enterprises absolute initiative in quality control, cost optimization, and supply chain security. According to the project manager, the epitaxial production process alone involves over 100 precision procedures, and the full industry chain layout has stabilized the product yield rate at over 99%.

The semiconductor lidar and sensor project of Lead Technology has come into production.

Relying on its solid accumulation in the rare scattered metals sector, Lead Technology has extended the technological advantages of gallium arsenide—a key material for second-generation semiconductors—down the industrial chain. This not only ensures the independent and controllable supply of core materials, but also effectively addresses the technological bottlenecks imposed by foreign countries in the field of lidar chips.

The project broke ground on September 28, 2024, and put its first production lines into operation in just one year—three months ahead of the original schedule—demonstrating the remarkable "Leading Speed".

Upon full operation, the project is expected to achieve an annual output of 1 million lidars and generate annual sales revenue of 8 billion yuan. Its products will be widely used in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), vehicle-to-everything (V2X), and robotics, with intelligent sensing capabilities such as sensitive avoidance of lane-changing vehicles and accurate judgment of the speed of following vehicles.

Baojin Laser

New Energy Vehicle Lightweight base Project Put into Operation

On October 18, 2025, the commissioning ceremony of Anhui Baojin Laser Technology Co., Ltd. was held in the Ningma New Functional Zone, marking the official operation of the first phase of the new energy vehicle lightweight industrial base project with a total investment of 5 billion yuan.

Invested by Suzhou Lee’s Holding Group, the project is constructed in two phases. The first phase, with an investment of 2 billion yuan, covers an area of 330 mu and includes workshops for laser tailor welding, integrated die casting, and hot stamping, along with supporting office, R&D, and dormitory facilities.

The commissioning ceremony of Anhui Baojin Laser Technology Co., Ltd. was grandly held in the Nanjing-Maanshan New Functional Zone.

As a national-level specialized, sophisticated, distinctive, and novel "little giant" enterprise in China's automotive laser tailor-welding sector, Suzhou Lee’s Holding Group has deeply integrated cutting-edge technologies into this project. Through precision manufacturing and AI control technologies, the project has achieved a leap from single equipment manufacturing to multi-process integration of "laser + die casting + hot forming", with its products targeting emerging fields such as new energy vehicles and high-end equipment.

After the first phase of the project reaches full production, the annual output value is expected to exceed 5 billion yuan, with tax per mu exceeding 300,000 yuan. The 3 billion yuan investment in the second phase will further expand production capacity, forming a supply network for core lightweight components of new energy vehicles covering the Yangtze River Delta.

Acme Laser

High-end "Smart Factory" Put into Operation

On October 16, 2025, the digital smart factory for high-end equipment of Acme Laser was officially put into operation in the Green Energy Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, Cuizhai Sub-district, Jinan Start-up Zone. This modern factory, with a total investment of approximately 300 million yuan and a building area of 52,000 square meters, is not only the first project to enter the park but also embodies the ambition of local small and medium-sized enterprises to leap towards "intelligent manufacturing".

It is reported that Acme Laser is a high-tech enterprise focusing on niche areas such as high-power bevel laser pipe cutting machines. Its products are exported to over 60 countries and regions including the EU, the United States, Australia, and Southeast Asia. In recent years, the company's sales revenue has achieved a 20-fold growth in six years, exceeding 200 million yuan for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. Faced with a surge in orders, the original production capacity could no longer meet the demand, making the commissioning of the new factory timely.

The new factory will establish a Laser Equipment R&D Center, a Robot + 3D Vision Workstation, a Six-axis CNC Equipment Integration Project, an Industrial Internet Platform, and an Intelligent Warehousing System, fully realizing the digitalization, intelligentization, and greenization of the production process.

A relevant person in charge of the company stated that the new factory will drive the enterprise’s annual output value to jump from 300 million yuan to 600 million yuan, and with the support of intelligent upgrading, it is expected to reach 800 million to 1 billion yuan in the future.

As a "Specialized, Refined, Differential, and Innovative Enterprise", a "Gazelle Enterprise", and a Digital Economy "Morning Star Factory" in Shandong Province, Acme Laser’s growth resonates with the development of Jinan Start-up Area. The government’s comprehensive support in policies, funds, and carriers has provided vital conditions for the enterprise’s innovation.

The commissioning of this smart factory is not only an expansion of production capacity, but also a microcosm of China's laser equipment manufacturing industry moving towards higher-end and more intelligent development.

Raykeen

390 Million Yuan base Capped, Medical Laser Moves Toward "Multi-Energy Platform"

On October 16, 2025, the main structure of Raykeen's headquarters and medical laser equipment R&D and manufacturing base project was capped.

With a total investment of 390 million yuan, the project covers an area of 13,356 square meters and has a total construction area of over 30,000 square meters. It is expected to be fully put into production in 2027, with an annual output value of 460 million yuan.
